Installing and Using WordPress on Android Without Internet Access

Working with WordPress or just want to learn more about this platform, the best way to do this is to install a local server on your computer. I have shown how it is done in some articles on this blog. But did you know that you can install WordPress on your android device or tablet?

Today I was playing with my tablet and trying to install WordPress on my Galaxy Tab 10.2 and decided to show how this is done and you. Having a WordPress installation on a tablet or other Android device has several advantages. You can create a site on your tablet when you're away from your computer; you can use the convenience it offers tablets to become familiar with the software, and can also show their creation to customers of your talent.

What is needed

Like Wordpress to install on your computer needs the right tools, Android also needs the right tools, such as:
  • A local server
  • WordPress
  • A file manager
first: Server install or KSWEB

To install this server or visit Google Play and search for KSWEB, start the installation process for your device. This app costs the US $ 2.99, but you can use it for free for five days.

There are other apps that let you do the same, but for this tutorial, I will focus on my KSWEB.

After installing the app click on the taskbar TOOLS menu that toolbar, to be able to make some settings. In this case, you just need to create, it has to do with the phpMyAdmin installation so you can create the database.

Once there click phpMyAdmin item and start the installation process, wait until the process is complete and then click on the menu to be able to create your database.

Local Server

Second: Server Configuration or

After installing KSWEB on your android device, you will need to make some small settings. For starters should visit the following URL in your browser:
HTTP: // localhost: 8080 /
This URL will take you where all the files you send to that server, usually / mnt / sdcard / htdocs. And there's one you have to put the WordPress folder and all the other files you want to access through your browser.

The principle when visiting this link you will find nothing there except welcome messages and usernames and passwords to access the administration panel, as shown in the picture:

visit http: // localhost url : 8001

This link will take you to the administration panel where you can make some settings to your server. This is where you should use your username and password given in the steps above.

Username: admin

Password: admin

It is advisable to change this data access for security reasons, and you can do this in the admin panel, as soon as you have access to it. To change your password go to System Settings.

ksweb
third: Download and install phpMyAdmin

On the taskbar click the SETTINGS menu and then click phpMyAdmin and the download and installation process will start. With PHPMyAdmin, you will be able to create a database for their site.
phpMyAdmi1

After the installation is complete you can access phpMyAdmin from your browser using URL localhost: 8000 or 127.0.0.1:8000 to gain access to phpMyAdmin.

To access phpMyAdmin using the following credentials:

wearer: root

Password: leave blank

It is recommended to create a password for access to phpMyAdmin.

Step Four: Download WordPress

To install WordPress you must first download the software from here. After Baier WP for your android device, you will need a file manager to be able to access the WP folder.

There are several file managers for Android, in my case I use Astro File Manager. You can find it on Google Play.

After installing the file manager you are looking for the WP you just downloaded to your Android device, extract and transfer the folder to the htdocs directory on android. This is what is the directory where the file resides KSWEB.

Step Five: install WordPress

This is the final step in this process, here's where you get the WordPress installation process on your Android device. For this visit to the link in your browser's localhost: 8080 / WordPress or 127.0.0.0.1 / Wordpress or whatever name he gave a place where contained files from WP.

Click the link to proceed to the next step of installation;

Fill in the information from the database you created in phpMyAdmin and submit;

Fill in information from your new site;

And that's all, just install WordPress on your android disposition successfully.

Sign in to your new website with selected data in the steps above;

Welcome to your new Panel site.

As seen this process is simple and you can already bring your WordPress on a tablet or Smartphone, and play with it on the go. So you no longer need to depend on your computer to and play with WordPress.
